We are delighted to be back exhibiting at this event, it has been a few year since we have but the market is changing and we and we look forward to meeting both new and existing customers over the three days of the show.
On the stand we shall have the latest HD IP cameras from NETmc Marine, as well as their extremely flexible and field-upgradeable DVR. We can also demonstrate the DDL software and discuss your interest in their low cost inspection package E-Inspect. Also on display will be a range of equipment from Sonotronics, inlcuding a new ROV mountable receiver and tracking software "PingTrack"; this will enable more accurate searches for lost assets marked with Sonotronics pingers.
The new boy in our stand is IVM Technologies, designers and manufacturers of advanced photogrammetry equipment for ROVs and diver deployment. IVM's Hydro Series photogrammetric equipment is ideal for a range of applications including metrology, IRM, deformation measurement, decommissioning modelling and many aspects of renewables inspection.
For more info on any of the above companies go to our home page and click on the relevant icon to be taken to the respective website.
RUCO Ltd has recently joined The Global Subsea Hub as a member to promote its principals businesses which include NETmc Marine; Sonotronics and IVM Technologies.
Are you visiting Oceanology International, then please visit the IVM Technology stand, we will be displaying the Hydro Series photogrammetry system with images from some recent demonstrations and client data. Due to its small form factor and weight, the Hydro 300 can be attached to an ROV manipulator which allows closer inspections and it ideal for metrology work.
NETmc Marine will be exhibiting at OceanBusiness in Southampton between the 12th and 14th of October
IVM Technologies will be exhibiting at OceanBusiness in Southampton between the 12th and 14th of October
As part of a strategic and commercial reorganisation of its resources, COMEX SA has transferred all ORUS 3D and photogrammetry related activities to IVM TECHNOLOGIES, a new and independent company. IVM Technologies has been formed by a group of former employees of COMEX SA, all of whom participated in the development, manufacturing and operation of the ORUS 3D system, and are dedicated to the continuity in development, maintenance and operation of the existing ORUS 3D equipment but moreover, to a continuous innovation process aiming at delivering brand new and state of the art photogrammetric inspection tools.
One of the main changes for clients is that IVM Technologies' main focus is in being a technology provider, rather than a service provider, by selling the photogrammetric survey systems it designs and builds; this should allow clients greater control and flexibility on operations. However, during 2021 IVM Technologies will keep providing inspection services, but it will gradually reduce this activity and focus on product sales, training, support and new development for our Clients. To support sales and allow our clients to maximise their RoI, IVM Technologies is currently developing a training program for client’s personnel in the installation, maintenance, operation and data processing of the systems. With such training, client’s personnel should have the competences to assess, plan and implement projects without the requirement of IVM Technologies input. Of course, IVM Technologies will still maintain the expertise required to assist clients in their operations. The courses will be available summer 2021 and may be run remotely."
Regarding the business of IVM Technologies, it will focus on sales of its Hydro systems, see attached Hydro 300 system, as we believe that photogrammetry has matured sufficiently that the service can now be provided by survey/ROV contractors. To this end, we have overhauled the system; improving the specification of the cameras, allowing most projects to be performed with just two cameras, thus we can make the system much more compact and fit it to smaller ROVs. The Hydro Series is available in 300m, 1000m and 3000m (three cameras) housings and the setup has been simplified to allow non experts to use it, but still attain the same level of accuracy in the results. We have just delivered our first 3000m system and have a few quotes out to sell some 300m and 1000m systems.
Although the focus is on sales, IVM Technologies realise that some of our customers may want still want us to provide photogrammetry services, we will do this for the next year, however most of such projects will essentially be paid demonstrations with the hope the client buys one or more systems thereafter. I am sure IVM will still receive request for a full service, however we would pass these requests to customers that have purchased the equipment from us, thus supporting the owners of the equipment.
